Call them what you like: gas springs, gas struts, lift supports, shocks, etc. We use gas struts with a built-in locking feature (red portion) to assist in lifting your heavy pop top roof and to securely lock the strut it in place.

Our roof to bed board strut is powder coated high tension gas springs with metal fittings. Unlike plastic fitted springs, our gas springs are built to last.
